On behalf of Hendry Regional Medical Center and the Lake Okeechobee Rural Health Network, we are very pleased and proud to announce that Dr. Nune has won the title of the "2012 Rural Physician of the Year." She was presented with the award by the Florida Rural Health Association during the Florida Rural Health Summit held on Thursday, November 15. This is the first time the Physician of the Year award has been offered.
Among the many submissions, Dr. Nune's nomination stood out to the Florida Rural Health Association Board of Trustees as the award winner, due to her extraordinary healthcare services and personal commitment to this rural community.
●April is National Volunteer Month. During April 15th-21st the Nation will celebrate the contributions of millions of volunteers with the 2012 theme - "Volunteers...Every One Counts". Volunteers are the lifeblood of our military, hospitals, community, schools, shelters,and faith-based/ community groups. It truly reflects the power volunteers have to inspire the people they help, as well as, to inspire others to serve and also presents an opportunity for individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and government entities alike to celebrate the ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary things through service.
