Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Services
Hendry Regional Medical Center provides rehabilitation and therapeutic services to adult and pediatric patients. Physical, Occupational and/or Speech Therapy services are available to adult patients in the hospital (acute care and post-acute inpatient rehabilitation) and Rehabilitation outpatient locations (Clewiston and LaBelle). Therapy is provided for patients after accidents or injuries, or for those suffering from orthopedic, neurologic, and other medical conditions. Many people require continued rehabilitation after discharge from the hospital to regain physical/cognitive abilities and to maintain their quality of life. Rehabilitation Services’ staff work with patients to maximize the recovery of strength, mobility, balance, function, communication, or swallowing based on individual needs. Treatment plans are developed for each patient, with an emphasis on their proactive role in the recovery process. Families take part in rehabilitation as appropriate to assist the patient at home.
Pediatric occupational and speech therapy are available to help children maximize their level of functioning in Clewiston and Labelle in clinic space dedicated to children. Limited physical therapy is available for children with orthopedic injuries.
