Part-Time -- Pharmacist - Outpatient Pharmacy (contract)
Part-Time Pharmacist
Hendry Regional Medical Center is partnering with a contract pharmacy group to build and operate an outpatient pharmacy. The Pharmacist is responsible for accurately preparing, verifying, and dispensing medications to patients in accordance with prescriptions and regulatory standards. This role ensures medication safety, provides patient counseling, and supports pharmacy operations to ensure high-quality service.

Primary Duties:
• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of therapy.
• Dispense medications according to federal and state regulations and organizational policies.
• Provide clear, professional counseling to patients regarding medication use, dosage, side effects, and storage.
• Ensure all medications are labeled, stored, and handled properly, including controlled substances and hazardous drugs.
• Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and inventory transactions.
• Collaborate with providers, technicians, and other staff to resolve medication-related issues.
• Monitor for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications, and intervene as needed.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians in preparing and packaging medications.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance and safety initiatives as needed.
• Serve as the Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) in the absence of the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Florida.
• 1–2 years of experience in a retail, outpatient, or hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with pharmacy systems and software (e.g., QS/1, PioneerRx, Epic, etc.).
• Ability to manage time and workflow effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
8 hour shifts, 16-20 hours per week. Typically 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
