Full-Time -- Pharmacy Technician - Outpatient Pharmacy (contract)
Full-Time Pharmacy Technician
Hendry Regional Medical Center is partnering with a contract pharmacy group to build and operate an outpatient pharmacy. We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will play a vital role in supporting the safe and accurate preparation, labeling, and dispensing of prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role supports patients with medication access and affordability to support their ongoing health and wellness.
Primary Duties:
• Accurately fill and label prescriptions based on verified orders.
• Prepare medications for final pharmacist check, including counting, measuring, and packaging.
• Enter and update prescription and patient information in the pharmacy system.
• Assist with inventory control, including stocking, ordering, and removing expired products.
• Handle phone calls and assist patients with prescription pick-up and questions within scope.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with pharmacy regulations.
• Support proper handling of controlled substances and hazardous medications.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure safe and timely medication delivery.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and organizational pharmacy laws and policies.
• Provide outstanding customer service and represent the pharmacy with professionalism and care.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Florida. National certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
• 1+ year of pharmacy technician experience preferred; experience in a dispensing role is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing medications.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software and prescription processing systems.
• Customer service oriented with a compassionate, professional demeanor.
Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt
8 hour shifts, 40 hours per week. Typically 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
