Full time -- Medical Technologist Supervisor (8:30a- 5:00p) - Laboratory
Status: Full time
Shift: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This position performs a variety of laboratory tests, many of which are complex, involving numerous steps and techniques, and requires the use of professional judgement. Professional application of the principles, theories and techniques of medical technology are used to produce consistently reliable test results which aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Trains other laboratory personnel and provides input in job performance. This position assists the laboratory director in performance of general laboratory duties to include, validation, quality control, performance improvement, policy and procedure maintenance, and nursing and provider support. This position is designated as a general supervisor of the laboratory and may act as the back-up to the administrative director when needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related filed of science with two years progressive experience, and eligible for national certification.
License Required: Must have or be eligible to seek a state of Florida supervisor license in all areas of Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Microbiology, and Immunohematology
A minimum of five (5) years of full-time technical experience in licensed specialties to include test interpretation, quality control and instrument maintenance.
American Heart Association BLS required.
Strong customer services skills and ability to mil-task while working in a high-volume work environment required.
