Elliott White is a dedicated General Surgery PA to Hendry County and the greater Lake Okeechobee community. His journey in healthcare began during his undergraduate education at FGCU. While studying biology, Elliott became very interested in human anatomy and disease processes. Due to this interest, he wished to interact more with patients and began working for Dr. John Kagan at a busy orthopedic surgery practice as a medical assistant. These experiences lead to a desire to better patient care through research and clinical trials. Elliott then helped manage projects at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland involving drug pharmacokinetics mostly on drugs to treat bladder cancer. He then managed multiple prospective clinical trials at the University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital. These ventures involved improving drug maintenance therapy for patients with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and colorectal cancer. During this experience Elliott worked with several Physician Assistants and ultimately decided to apply to PA school. During his graduate education at the University of Florida he obtained clinical training in general medicine, general surgery, thoracic surgery, orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, and dermatology. After completing his training, he returned to Dr. John Kagan and Dr. Brett Sweitzer to help run their busy clinics and assist in orthopedic surgeries. Elliott and his wife Paige then decided to return to his home of Clewiston to start their family in the community that helped shape him. He now works with Dr. Barry Davis providing general surgical care including laparoscopic appendix surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery, pediatric surgery, and endoscopy/colonoscopy, among many others. Elliott's particular interests in clinic include dermatologic procedures for skin cancer or lumps and bumps, patient's with abdominal pain, and orthopedic complaints including arthritis. Elliott is greatly dedicated to the community and it shows in the way he treats all of his patients that come in to the surgery department.
